Hello, I am Neil MacDonald and what I am about to tell you is the truth...the whole truth. No one else could make up such a story.
I began in the Box business with Independent Boxmakers in 1967. I was working in shipping and inventory control and attending law school at the same time. After a two-year law school education I decided that I had more ethics than needed to be a lawyer. In 1969 I convinced the management team at Independent Boxmakers to allow me to start A Box Unlimited. This company's motto was "any quantity, any size, any time" and it was Louisville's second short order box company. As I progressed up the ranks with Independent, A Box became A Pack and was successful for many years as a stand alone short order company. Independent Boxmakers was acquired by a major integrated corrugated company in 1977. I remained there for four years a Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
In July of 1981 a group of former Independent Boxmaker employees formed a new company, Independent Container Incorporated. As President and CEO - and with a very experienced group of employees - Independent Container grew to become a large midwest sheetfed plant with three manufacturing locations in Kentucky and Indiana. Independent Container was acquired by a large integrated corrugated company in 1997. I stayed with the new company for five years as President of the Independent Container division.
In July of 2006 a new company, Independent II, ran its first box as a company formed and owned by many of the employees who had previously worked at one or both of the former Independents. Today as CEO of Independent II, I am happy to say that as we begin our fourteenth year in business we have many great customers and employees who continue to help us grow. Our employees, from myself to our newest hire, are dedicated to fulfilling our customers' needs.
Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to doing business with you.
